Ⅰ. Admission Qualifications
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health. Applicants shall abide by the laws of China and the regulations of Yunnan Normal University.
2. Non-degree applicants must have senior high school diploma or above aged from 18 to 60.
3. Applicants for bachelor’s degree must have a senior high school diploma with transcript and be the age of 18-45.
4. Applicants for master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 45.
5. Applicants for doctoral degree must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 45.
Note: In principle, applicants should be qualified with certain Chinese proficiency. But those who do not meet the Chinese proficiency requirement or who are without any HSK certificates can take elementary Chinese study or join in small classes program prior to the major study. They also have to get corresponding Chinese proficiency after enrollment.
Ⅱ.Application Documents
1. Admission form for International Students of Yunnan Normal University (fill in the form online)
2. A copy of passport photo page.
3. Notarized highest education diploma attained(scheduled graduation proof or official proof of student status )and academic transcript. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
4. If there are any HSK certificates, please provide the photocopies.
5. If the international students of other schools in China apply to transfer to YNNU, they still need to provide the following documents:
(1) School Transfer Certificate and transcript with official seal.
(2) Photocopy of visa or valid resident permit.
6. If the applicants are working in China, they need to provide the contract predictably terminated by the
employment units and photocopy of visa or valid resident permit;
7. Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit the guardian notarization issued by the local notary office in china.
Ⅲ. Application Procedures
1.Contact with us. Please contact with admissionynnu@aliyun.com or 86-871-65516251(or 65941260) and tell us you want to study at YNNU. If you were accepted you will get a student number to register on line.
2.Application Online. Please take your student number log on to the SICS website http://sics.ynnu.edu.cn/hwgybm/plus/login2.aspx , fill in personal information online and submit it.
3.Information by Email. After submitting the application form successfully, please send an email to admissionynnu@aliyun.com to confirm your application, attaching a scanned copy of your passport (the photo page) and the highest education diploma.
4.Checking Application documents. The School of International Chinese Studies (SICS) will check the applicants’ documents.
5.Enrollment confirmation: If the applicants are qualified, SICS will prepare the authorized Visa Application Form (JW202) and Admission Notice for the applicants.
6.Posting Documents. The authorized JW202 and Admission Notice will be mailed through express mail to the applicants after it has been confirmed by both sides. (Marks: please make sure the address of receiving the acceptance letter is correct.)
7.Visa Application. Applicants should apply for a Study Visa (X visa) at the Chinese Embassy or consulate general in your country with the JW202 form and Admission Notice and other related documents. Applicants should come to our university to register before the date written on the Admission Notice. For short-term international students, the applicants can apply for a tourist visa (L visa) to come to our university. We will help you to change visa into a student’s residence permit after you register and pay tuition. You will be responsible for the fees for changing your visa or applying for a residence permit.
Ⅳ. Registration at the University
Please register at Admission Office of SICS with your passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), Foreigner Physical Examination Form and 8 passport-size photos (45mm*35mm). Degree candidates are still required to provide their original highest education diploma and academic transcripts
